Had to run the engine to recharge the batteries which were seriously low - too much telly watching (tennis).
Walked to James Street and caught the train to West Kirby to call on Pam & Phil. Walked through West Kirby in the pouring rain - then had a BBQ in the garden beneath umbrellas. In the afternoon P&P took us (in their lovely new car - envy!) for an ice cream at Parkgate - eaten beneath the shop awning to prevent the rain washing away the ice cream. Thence to Cheshire Oaks shopping outlet for a mega-window shop. They kindly dropped us back at Hamilton Square Station for the short rail trip under the river back to James Street.
These are the voyages of Ken, Annie and dog Peggy. As we cruise we will try and keep the blog up-to-date - internet access permitting of course. Ceilidh is a 54ft cruiser style narrowboat. It was built by J Pinder Ltd for Black Prince hire boats in 1995.
