The forecast said heavy rain and strong winds later, so we set off early - seeing as how it was only then light rain and strong winds. We needed to do some shopping in Ellesmere so we moored up at the end of the arm, right outside Tescos. On the way in Annie managed to photo the flyboat
Saturn getting ready to move to Crick for the IWA Boatshow.
She is the last horse-drawn Shropshire Union Canal Fly-boat in the World – originally built to travel non-stop, day and night, carrying perishable goods. Over 100 years old, she has been fully restored to her former glory; not only to preserve her for posterity but to educate present and future generations about our waterways, narrowboats and horse-boating.Visited the Launderette again and had a brief shop for lunch - then the heavens opened.
Lit the stove and got thoroughly warm watching the rain outside. Annie stitched stuff and I doodled on drawing pad thoughtfully presented to me by Claire.
Watched DVD on laptop as we still have no TV signal - what do the Welsh do in the evening??
