7th May 2013 - Froncysylltau to Llangollen and back to Froncysylltau

Spent the first part of the morning changing the stern tube grease, tidying up in the engine room and Annie cleaned the boat inside. Set of for Llangollen before lunch.  This section of canal is very narrow - some in fact only wide enough for one boat.  This requires sending a crew member ahead to see if anything is coming.

Llangollen hove into view at lunch time and we continued to the basin at the canal terminus.  We could moor here for the rest of the day and the centre of town was just a short walk.  Horizontally anyway.  Vertically it was a long long way....

Got talking to Jim and Maureen a Scottish couple who had followed us in, and ended up having lunch with them in a tea room.  Looked around town.  Shops. People. Like many other towns - but it does have a preserved steam railway so its not all bad.  Then back to the boat.  A hireboat managed to hit the back of ours (cant see any damage) on full throttle.  I had to scream at him to power off!  While the boat was still intact we headed back out.  Finally moored up at exactly the same place we left last night!  Well it had such a good view.....
A nice view

One boat wide, no passing places....
