Last night we had walked up to bridge 4 and into the little village of Burland. After setting off this morning we moored briefly to walk along to the Burland Stores for bread, and a few other essential supplies like... onion marmalade - yum! During the morning we experienced our first queue for a lock - 2 boats! More boats are around now its warmer and I am sure we will see many more queues before the end of the summer. But give me one of these queues any day rather than one on the M25! You can chat to the next boat in the line for a start.
We arrived in Wrenbury at 1pm, which is picture postcard stuff with its lift bridge and mill. Having moored up, we walked (with Duck) to the Cotton Arms for a drink. Nice pint but no atmosphere.
We continued on to Marbury - or a point well outside out in the sticks. Lovely clear evening and starlit night.
